Prayer For Brain Tumor

Prayer for Someone With a Brain Tumor

Father in Heaven, you have created us with such care. At the moment of conception, you knitted us together in our mothers’ wombs. Your Word says that we are fearfully and wonderfully made by you. Thank you for giving us bodies with which we can glorify you.

Unfortunately, we live in a world that is broken by sin. And this means that our bodies don’t always work the way that they should.

Tumors are perhaps one of the scariest examples of this, and so right now I pray for anyone who is currently facing that reality.

Lord, be with that person who is waiting for their results and is dreading the possibility of a brain tumor. Give them patience and endurance during this difficult time.

Help them to wait upon you with hope and anticipation, because you are capable of great things. Help them not to be consumed by fear, because no matter the outcome, you will be with them.

Surround them with your comfort and uphold them with your mighty hand. Help them to know that an unfavorable diagnosis is not the end of their story, but rather an opportunity for you to work in a miraculous way.

Lord, I also lift up anyone that has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. I pray that you would cast out all fear and replace it with a comforting knowledge of your perfect love.

Help them to put their trust in you, for you are able to accomplish all things.

Father, give the doctors knowledge and wisdom so that they can treat this devastating condition as best as possible. And if it is your will, I pray that you would completely eliminate this tumor in a miraculous way.

I pray that you would restore them to full health so that they can live the life you intend for them to live.

God, every day, remind us of your sovereignty. You know exactly how things will play out, even when we don’t. Help us to make peace with that reality and to surrender all control to you.

Give them the guidance they need for the decisions that they will have to make. And above all, help them to fix their eyes on what is eternal.

This diagnosis, although daunting, is temporary. One day, either by a miracle or by death, this tumor will go away. But even after this life, we know our souls can live on in eternity because of your Son, Jesus Christ.

Help them to cling to that hope, and to look forward to the day when you will give them a new, imperishable body.

Father, help us to support those going through this trying time. Help us to show them the same unconditional love that you have shown to each and every one of us.

While we can’t even begin to understand what it’s like to be in this situation, give us compassion and empathy for my neighbor.

Help us to be sensitive and attuned to the many complex emotions that are swirling around right now.

God, some people put their trust in luck or in fate, or in human effort. But we trust you alone, Father, for we know that you are able and worthy. I pray all these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
